2010 Local + District Health Board Elections

Welcome to Counties Manukau DHB's Election Website

Counties Manukau District Health Board elections are held every three years.  The election was held on Saturday, 9 October 2010.

The CMDHB Board election was held in conjunction with Local Authority elections.

The Counties Manukau District Health Board (CMDHB) consists of up to eleven members.  Seven members are elected and the remainder are appointed by the Minister of Health.

The 2010 election used the Single Transferable Vote (STV) system.

Important dates

Please note the following important dates for the 2010 DHB elections:

6 December 2010

Newly elected board members take office.
 

15 October 2010

Special votes counted and official results declared.

Saturday
9 October 2010

Election day – end of voting period (at 12 noon) and announcement of preliminary results (as soon as practical after the close of voting).

17-22 September 2010

Voting documents issued – start of voting period, special votes are issued and early processing of votes begins.

Friday 20 August 2010

Candidate nominations closed (at 12 noon).

Friday 23 July 2010

Candidate nominations opened.

Nomination forms will be available during this period from:

  • The Electoral Office (Independent Election Services Ltd, Level 8, 92 Albert Street, Auckland);

  • Counties Manukau District Health Board (Ground Floor, 19 Lambie Drive, Manukau);

  • Or by telephoning 09-973 5212 or 0800 922 822 where one will be posted out.
